Abstract. Khatulistiani TS, Dewi AS, Yasman. 2022. Detailed description of scanning electromagnetic microscope (SEM) the Holothuria scabra’s ossicles (Holothuroidea: Echinodermata) collected from Pesawaran waters, Lampung, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 23: 3697-3704. Ossicles are microscopic calcified endoskeleton that unique across sea cucumber species. Furthermore, their integrity is maintained after physical and chemical processes make them a desired attribute for identification purposes. Understanding ossicle characteristic especially sandfish H. scabra juvenilles important during mariculture prevent fraud due to high economic value. This study aims identify wild Lampung Province, Indonesia using electron microscopes get more detailed morphology ossicles. Seven specimens were in Pesawaran, Sari Ringgung Mutun, around waters. Morphology carried out by observing body appearance tentacles as well measuring weights lengths. The observation was performed light (LEICA ICC50 HD) at 400x magnification SEM (Jeol-JCM6000). length tested 140-300 mm weight approximately 99-579 g. These two parameters found exhibit positive correlation (R2 = 0.93; R= 0.96; p 0.000). All observed displayed peltate (12-22 tentacles) surrounding mouths. between tentacle numbers also (R2= 0.53; 0.73; 0.101). shape consist six fourteen-hole buttons, tables, spiny perforated plates cloaca, tube foot rods, dorsal I shaped branched rods.

Isolation and Characterization of Adhesive Secretion from Cuvierian Tubules of Sea Cucumber Holothuria forskåli (Echinodermata: Holothuroidea)
The sea cucumber Holothuria forskåli possesses a specialized system called Cuvierian tubules. During mechanical stimulation white filaments (tubules) are expelled and become sticky upon contact with any object. We isolated a protein with adhesive properties from protein extracts of Cuvierian tubules from H. forskåli. This protein was identified by antibodies against recombinant precollagen D wh...
متن کاملPhylogeny of Holothuroidea (Echinodermata) inferred from morphology
Holothuroids, or sea cucumbers, are an abundant and diverse group of echinoderms with over 1400 species occurring from the intertidal to the deepest oceanic trenches. In this study, we report the first phylogeny of this class, based on a cladistic analysis of 47 morphological characters. We introduce several previously unconsidered synapomorphic characters, examine the relationships between rep...

This is a taxonomic work on the aspidochirotid sea cucumbers from shallow waters in Northeast Brazil. We studied 165 specimens, classified into 2 families, 3 genera, 7 subgenera and 9 species. Descriptions, illustrations and literature data are included for each species, in addition to ecological notes and information on their distribution in the northeast coast of Brazil. A taxonomic key is pr...
